ProMask - 35 years of experience5 years of experience
 My name is Jörgen Wikström and I'm the person behind ProMask. Ice hockey and a career as a goalie have been a major part of my life. I was born in Kiruna, Sweden and played for Kurina AIF until 1988, when I moved to Umeå and joined the IF Björklöven club. After eleven years with Björklöven, I retired from professional ice hockey following the 1998-99 season.
My other big interest, goalie masks, took hold when I was ten years old. Pelle Lindbergh was my big idol, and "Bosse," my father, and I made my first mask. For the inside of the mask, I hollowed out a piece of wood in a school woodworking class. Using this and some fiberglass, we made a field hockey mask. Even back then, I was interested in the development of masks.
 Things became serious in 1992, when I met Nils Nordling, a smart, experienced mask manufacturer from Finland. He had been making masks for many years and was a leading figure in the industry. I helped him gain approval to sell his masks in Sweden, and managed Swedish sales from 1993.
It was at this time that the initial idea of developing ProMask began to form as I reviewed comments from all the customers I met. By gathering information from all the goalies I'd ever known, including international ones, I ended up with a clear picture of the type of protection that was needed. I also collected masks from all over the world, such as the Jacques Plante and the Itech, to find the best possible solutions for goalies.
ProMask slowly took form during these years. In 1996, after the first prototypes were manufactured, the time had finally come to test them at the Swedish Testing and Research Institute. By starting slowly and applying all of the information I had gathered from other mask users, I was able to produce masks that, today, are among the very best on the market.

Since 1996 we have developed many new masks and also expanded the product range to goalie equipment and sticks.
The company has growth a lot over the years but with the same passion as before. Sens 2009 we develop masks for Reebok and with this has a great opportunity to take reach our target to be in a top position worldwide.
Under 2008 we also open the North American office in Michigan !
ProMask also has two world patents (dividable stick and FlatPad).
