A, Check the mask/helmet and all its parts at regular intervals to make sure that the surface on the shell is not beginning to turn matt, that it has no deep scratches, and that the inside of the mask/helmet is not beginning to look worn or has become soft. If any such defects are found, scrap the mask/helmet and buy a new one.
